Who are we?

Emigrant Beauty Queens chosen through the work of the World Lebanese Cultural Union are the only ones with the right to participate in the Final pageant competition of Miss Lebanese Emigrants in the town of Dhour El-Shweir in Lebanon, where they would represent their country of residence.

This appointment was obtained from the World Lebanese Cultural Union and the municipality of the town of Dhour El-Shweir as authorized by Lebanese Ministry of the Interior and the Ministry of Tourism, Official Decree number 25 dated January 28, 2011 and official decree number 61 dated April 3rd, 2017, whereby exclusive right was granted to the municipality of  Dhour El-Shweir to organize and run the Miss Lebanese Emigrants pageant in conjunction with the World Lebanese Cultural Union in all the countries of the diaspora.

These 2 entities have therefore the right to work on the Miss Lebanese Emigrant Pageant, while no other organization inside or outside of Lebanon has that right or part thereof in any way, form or fashion.

To The Miss Lebanese Emigrants Pageant West Coast will take place at a reception hall that can receive 700 to 800 guests, where a high-end dinner will be served before the pageant begins. It will comprise a wonderful show, studded with singing stars.

Miriam Habib Akle

Miriam Habib Akle, married to Dr. Nassim Akle, represented Houston in Lebanon in 2003 and won the crown of the Miss Lebanon Emigrant 2003 global pageant. Miriam Habib Akle will be an emcee for the Miss Lebanese Emigrant USA West Coast Pageant in Houston.

Professor George M. Nassar, M.D.

Professor George M. Nassar, M.D., specializes in nephrology and has published numerous studies. He has years of valuable experience as a nephrology expert and has an award presented in his name to specialists in the field. Dr. Nassar will also be an emcee for the Miss Lebanese Emigrant USA West Coast Pageant in Houston.

Program

After dinner:
the candidates will sashay in a unique style, wearing bewitchingly elegant gowns (belonging to an internationally recognized brand) which will be offered by the organizers.

The first parade of the candidates:
Their individual appearance will be exciting, elegant and unique, perhaps each one blooming out of a rose on the catwalk… or perhaps they will arrive in a limousine and alight to the tune of the Miss Lebanon Emigrant Pageant West Coast… or perhaps they will appear in  one other, unexpected manner.

After they all line up on the podium, a presenter will call out the name of each one and will read her bio, after which they will walk back to behind the scenes.

 

the second tableau:

The beauty queens will enter the stage wearing cow-boy outfits or shirts and shorts since it’s Texas, but the hat is Lebanese-inspired. Then the bikini… all in a pleasant show with a dance specially choreographed for the event.

The third show:
A screening of video recordings of each contestant’s family life and excerpts of training time.

The fourth part:
Questions by the panel of judges, which is comprised of beauty specialists. They will ask questions to showcase each contestant’s intelligence.

The fifth tableau:
A song and a show by the star while the panelists decide on points awarded to each contestant. This is followed by announcing the name of the beauty queen, and the first & second runners up. The beauty tiara is set on the new queen’s head, and congratulations given while the appropriate song and music is played as the golden confetti rain down on the theatre. The beauty queen receives dream-like gifts given by local and international companies & organizations

Preparations…

Each contestant should:

First of all, fill up an application form, sign it and contact us.
Second, to arrive to Houston a week in advance to start her training. Catwalk, proper sitting and talking to others, and the proper choosing of different styles of clothing and footwear. She will meet the hairdressers and makeup artists and beauty specialists. Tourism tours are booked and filmed to be screened later during the pageant show. They will include visiting some American officials, cultural & historic sites, and a special nutrition program especially designed for beauty queens.

Criteria for choosing candidates:

  • First, that one of the 2 parents be a Lebanese national.
  • Second, if she were chosen to be the local beauty queen, that she be willing & ready to travel to Lebanon to participate in the final Miss Lebanon Emigrant 2019 worldwide Pageant, travel expenses covered by the organizers.

  • Fifth, the West coast beauty queen should keep the tiara till the time comes when she gives it to the new queen the following year.
